Since our establishment in 2006, Infinity Children’s School (Kowloon Tong) (hereafter referred to as ICS) has been actively promoting Montessori philosophy and education to the Chinese community.  Several hundreds of seminars were held during these seven years introducing the Montessori approach of education.   We have left no stone unturned in the localization of Montessori educational method in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China. Since 2012, ICS has organized the American Montessori Society (AMS)-affiliated teacher education programme in Hong Kong:the first and only internationally recognized Montessori teacher education programme. As the AMS Full International Member School, ICS also serves as the practicum site for student-teachers to put theory into practice. This is a great opportunity to raise Hong Kong early childhood education’s educational status to an international standard.  We will continue our mission by nurturing more parents and teachers for the contribution to the society.

The AMS Early Childhood Teacher Credential course prepares adult learners for working with children aged two and one half to six years old. 320 Academic hours and 540 Practicum hours are required. Instruction is at Infinity Children's School (Kowloon Tong), Hong Kong. Practicum is at a full Montessori classroom.


Curriculum includes: Montessori Philosophy/Theory, Child Development/ Psychology, Observation, Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language Arts, Art, Music and Movement, Physical and Life Science, Social Studies, Cultural Subjects, Classroom Leadership, Parent Involvement/ Education/ Administration and Practicum


Practicum/ Student Teaching

The 540 hours of practicum/student teaching (3 hours a day, five days a week in a full Montessori classroom) is a necessary requirement for the successful completion of the Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Credential Course


Minimum Entry Qualifications

Post-secondary Certificate/Diploma/Associate or Bachelor Degree (in any discipline)


Medium of Instruction

English and/or Chinese. Coursework can be submitted in English, or subject to approval in Chinese. Manuals in English. Handouts in English supplemented by Chinese.

課程簡介

蒙特梭利教育的核心是:「一切從孩子出發。」蒙氏嬰幼師的主要工作,就是研究出生後的頭三年的孩子,深入、仔細的了解兒童。透過入微的觀察,嬰幼師認識兒童是獨立的個體,有獨立的人格,需要為他們設置可自由而安全地探索的環境,協助嬰幼兒發揮內在潛力和得到自我發展的自由。這是人類生命之初的教育。


0-3歲的嬰幼兒陸續完成了不起的心智建構和人格發展:語言、動件、認知、智能、情緒、建立人際關係等。但嬰幼兒未能說話,一個了解人類發展需要的嬰幼師,就是一條連繫嬰孩和成人的橋樑 - 為孩子說話。


瑪利亞.蒙特梭利博士認為成人應作為孩子「生命的助力」。偏離嬰幼兒發展需要的過多干預或嚴重忽略,都會成為孩子成長的阻力。通過本課程的理論課及實習,修畢本課程後,學員會認識嬰幼兒成長發展的敏感期,從觀察嬰幼兒的活動而了解其需要,因應嬰幼兒的發展特徵配合環境設置,促進嬰幼兒的全面發展。


課程對象

嬰幼兒教育工作者、其他從事相關工作的專業人和嬰幼兒家長。


修讀模式

理論課共150小時學員每月需出席兩個星期六全日(每天全日課8小時),及一至兩個週三晚上(每節3小時)的理論課(共22小時),為時約七個月。另學員同期需參與共150小時的實習,有關實習將在校內安排在星期一至五的日間進行)
