美國蒙特梭利協會報道兒童無限於亞洲推展家長教育
美國蒙特梭利協會(American Montessori Society)於2009年12月通訊中報道，亞洲蒙特梭利協會與美國蒙特梭利協會定下共同目標，將準備好的環境的概念推展至亞洲家庭，是項工作由一直致力於家長教育的兒童無限創辦人劉詠思及邱振明負責。節錄報道如下：
Hong Kong’s Infinity Children’s World Transforms into Montessori Parent Education Center (AMS newsletter Dec 2009)
Infinity Children’s World has become the Montessori Center for Children and Parents, a place for Montessori education for adults, including teachers and parents. This change is the direct result of item 2 of the joint communiqué (“Extend the prepared environment to the children’s homes”) issued at the end of the “Montessori IN and FOR Asia” conference, which took place August 2009 in Taipei, Taiwan. The center aims to expand Montessori education to the home and community—and has been promoting parent education for 3 years in Hong Kong. During this time, over 3,000 parents have attended courses and completed at least 12 hours of observation in child-parent classes.
Daisy Lau, who cofounded the center with Ralph Yau, explains, “Soon after we opened a Montessori center, in mid-2006, we discovered that parents have the internal need and cosmic task of knowing about their children. Parents are in a sensitive period to understand young humans. However, there was no Montessori parent education in Hong Kong. Most educators focus on children; parents were being ignored. We need to fulfill parents’ internal needs and help them to be normalized.”

The first-ever joint conference of the Chinese Montessori Foundation for Early Childhood Educational Research (CMF) and the American Montessori Society was presented last August in Taipei, Taiwan, with 15 Asian countries and political regions participating. AMS president Marilyn E. Stewart served as the conference’s honorary chair and as a keynote speaker......At the close of the conference, a joint communiqué with three major points was presented by Marilyn and myself: 1. Try to bring Montessori to all children; 2. Extend the prepared environment to children’s homes; and 3. Organize an umbrella organization of Asian Montessorians to help Montessori better serve the children of Asia.
In order to implement the first item of the communiqué, an organization called FUIS (after an aboriginal word for “twinkling stars”) was formed by CMF. Addressing the second item, Hong Kong Montessorian, headed by Daisy Lau and Ralph Yau, is implementing a parent education program.

蒙特梭利的教學理念
意大利教育家瑪利亞．蒙特梭利博士根據長期的觀察和實驗，集結醫學、心理學、人類學及哲學，建立了一套全人的教學法和教育哲學；輔以一系列具體的蒙特梭利教具及其他教具，讓成人協助孩子發展而科學化的教學方法。其理論是遵循兒童成長的自然法則，強調感官訓練，培育孩子學習所需的自然因素，讓兒童在特別營造的環境中自由而有序地進行主動的自我學習。
蒙特梭利為世界的幼兒教育帶來了巨大的改革，吸引了眾多教育家對其進行了深入而廣泛的研究和推廣。眾多有志人士，如Google.com的創辦人Larry Page和Sergey Brin，以及 Amazon.com的Jeff Bezos均認為，他們的成功很大程度歸功於蒙特梭利教育。 |
那些才是孩子真正的需要？
我們常常聽到作為家長的成人說：「一切都是為孩子好」或「想給他最好的」。但那些才是「最好」的呢？在香港這個價值觀遭到扭曲的社會，每個人都被灌輸要崇拜「才智」與「美貌」，加上市面上有不少為推銷產品及課程而不惜混淆視聽或以偏概全的教育言論，要認清陷阱殊不容易，要找出真正適合自己孩子成長的路向，成人必須多聽、多看、多問及多想一點！
在我們幫助孩子選擇「最好的」事物時，有沒有放低自己成人的角度，代入孩子的角度考量呢？還是只會考慮到配合教育制度？其實在孩子出生後的最初幾年，他們最需要的是什麼？你明白滿足他們心理需要的重要性嗎？若我們知道多一點孩子的內在需要及他們是如何學習的，就更能以開放的心接納孩子的行為，配合他們腦部發展及內在需求而施教，這就是給予他們「最好的」。
