Self Discipline

Respect yourself, respect others, respect the environment

Basic rules for Classrooms from 1-3 Years old

  1. We implement a Montessori teaching of one of the concepts of “responsible freedom” in a positive manner, and teach children to follow the basic rules of the classroom to enjoy freedom. The habit of obeying the rules requires adult cooperation in order to achieve self-discipline and let the children learn to discipline themselves.
  2. Parents, caregivers and children are required to abide by the etiquette and rules of the garden. Adults and children must respect each other and extend this respect to the family and society.
  3. Please try to arrange for the adults who have completed the parent class to bring their children back to school to create the ideal Montessori campus.
  4. The campus gate must be closed at all times to ensure safety.
  5. Please measure your child’s temperature at home. According to the guidelines of the Education Bureau, if your child's temperature is higher than 37.5 degrees Celsius, please stay at home and rest.
  6. Dress in a dignified manner.
  7. Please turn your mobile phone into the vibration mode after entering the park, do not use the phone in the classroom.
  8. The classroom is open five minutes before the start of the course so that the teacher can organize the classroom.
  9. If parents and caregivers need to stay in the classroom, please sit in the “adult corner”, keep quiet, and observe more. Adults should talk quietly in the classroom to ensure the children are focused.
  10. Since the teacher needs to focus on caring for the children, parents and caregivers are advised to avoid enquiring the teacher during the class.
  11. If you want to drink water, please go to the “adult corner". If you want to eat, please go to the front garden.
  12. Do not give your child sweet drinks or candy to keep them moving, this will make them over excited.
  13. Children can wear underwear instead of diapers to start the process of quitting diapers. It is best if a child is accompanied by a family member or caregiver when going to the toilet, as a “stranger” helping might cause discomfort to the child.
  14. In the classroom, adults are required to wear socks or indoor shoes, children can wear indoor shoes or walk barefoot (please avoid wearing socks unless they are non-slip socks to prevent slipping). If you need to put indoor shoes in the shoe cabinet in the lobby, please write your name on the sole for easy identification and clean the shoes regularly to ensure they remain hygienic.
  15. Adults should understand the child's need to observe and adapt to the environment, do not force the child to do things.
  16. Adults and children must sit down and dine on the table. Please continue to cultivate the habit of children at home and establish order.
  17. Adults should lead by example. Please line up and follow the rules when you are active, so that children can learn to respect each other.
  18. In order to enable children to have more space for activities and strengthen campus security, a child can only be accompanied by a family member when entering the park.
  19. In order to avoid affecting the child's sense of order, there is no substitute for the above rules.

Basic rules of the Montessori & JELIC course

  1. The main purpose of Montessori education is to nurture the children's sense of order, concentration and independence. The students with a strong sense of order, focus and independence have better learning abilities, strong logical thinking abilities and better psychological qualities.
  2. Teaching children to be punctual and obeying the rules of the classroom are necessary to give children a sense of order, and these habits require the cooperation of parents and caregivers. Our education emphasizes freedom, spontaneous and active learning, but also implements the following basic etiquette and classroom rules in a positive manner so that children can learn to be self-disciplined. Adults and children must respect each other and extend this respect to the family and society.
  3. We implement Montessori teaching as one of the concepts of “responsible freedom” and teach children to follow the basic rules of the classroom in a positive manner to enjoy freedom. The habit of obeying the rules requires adult cooperation in order to achieve self-discipline and let the children learn to discipline themselves.
  4. Since the teacher needs time to organize the classroom, the classroom is only open five minutes before the start of the course.
  5. The official class time is 1 hour and 45 minutes, and the child must attend classes on time. Late students will have to end at the same time the course was originally intended to end, to prevent affecting the time the instructor prepares for the next class.
  6. Parents must leave the classroom so they won’t affect their children’s classes. The performance of the children when the parents are present is unsatisfactory.
  7. As the instructor is required to take care of the child in all aspects, parents should be aware of the situation of the child. Please avoid inquiries during class. Parents can make an appointment with the teacher or call them. We will also call the parents regularly to explain the child's progress.
  8. Do not eat in the classroom except for drinking water. Do not leave high-sugar or sweet drinks and sweets for your child, this will lead to the child being distracted and unable to concentrate.
  9. Please try to arrange for your child to go to the bathroom before class, so that the child can make full use of the class time to concentrate on work and avoid the interruption of the bathroom breaks in the middle of the work.
  10. Please measure your child’s temperature at home. According to the guidelines of the Education Bureau, if your child's temperature is higher than 37.5 degrees Celsius, please stay at home and rest.
  11. In order to avoid affecting the child's sense of order, there is no substitute for the above rules.
